Is It A Baby?
By Dustin Cannon
An early pregnancy sign is not proof, but may be an indicator that you're about to become a mom. If you have an early pregnancy sign that's included in the list below you may want to take a home pregnancy test. An early pregnancy sign could show up as early as one week after conception, when you miss your period. Many women don't keep good track of their cycle or are irregular and so miss this early pregnancy sign. But there are several others.

If your breasts are swollen and or tender you might be pregnant. This change comes about because your hormones are increasing. If you've experienced this symptom for several weeks and it's now disappeared you may well be entering the second trimester of your pregnancy.

If you're all of a sudden very tired on a regular basis - just plain worn out - you may be pregnant. While the reason for this in pregnancy is not proven, medical care practitioners conjecture that the fatigue comes from increasing levels of progesterone. Fatigue will return in your last trimester but with good reason - at that point you'll be carrying around what feels like a 16 pound bowling ball.

Approximately one month after the baby is conceived you may well experience vomiting or at least nausea, most commonly in the morning, but it can occur any time of day or night. This is morning sickness. The symptom wears off no later than the second month of your second trimester.

An offshoot of this morning sickness is the common sensitivity to some food odors. You may find that you all of a sudden hate the thoughts of eating some foods you loved before. Some food smells may even trigger your reflex to gag. Along with this you may also experience cravings for foods that you had not previously thought of us your favorites. This is sometimes the result of not being able to tolerate many other foods.

Even prior to your baby's growth and the resulting enlargement of your abdomen you may experience some abdominal bloating. This is often an early pregnancy sign. You'll feel like your period is coming on but it doesn't arrive. You clothes will feel tighter, especially around your waist. Changing hormones are the cause.

As quickly as six weeks after you conceive you may find yourself having to urinate a lot more often than usual. This happens because your body is increasing its fluid amounts, including blood. Your kidneys are having to process this extra fluid, and it ends up in your body's bladder.

If you've been trying to get pregnant you've probably been keeping track of your body's temperature with a basal thermometer which is more accurate than any digital or other thermometer. If you see that your basal body temperature has stayed high for at least 18 days, you have a fairly dependable early pregnancy sign.
